Open Transom For Instant Cockpit Drainage
Having a cockpit that can immediately drain makes the cockpit not only safer, but also keeps water from possibly entering the interior of the boat.
Learn MoreSailboats that are built to last and cruise extensive miles must have reliable rigs and well-considered sail plans. Outbound Yachts are built with Selden rigs and on the OB 46 and OB 521, owners mostly opt for a solent rig, although a cutter rig is possible. The OB 5360 is designed to be a cutter rigged sloop with a large enough slot to both tack and two sail reach, under the right conditions.
The versatility in these double headsail rigs is evident in both heavy and light air. As the wind comes up or night falls, it is simple to switch from the large overlapping genoa to the smaller solent. On the OB 5360 owners can go from the 95% jib to a larger off-the-wind sail, tacked forward, or shorten sail to a staysail. All of the rigs reduce the need to partially furl a headsail which often destroys the sail shape.
