Outbound Yachts

Stability & High Righting Moment

Righting moment is one measure of a sailboats stability. Dynamic stability helps us understand how a boat will react to sudden gusts of wind or wave action. The complete stability picture is created through hull form, displacement and, very importantly, where weight is located.

Outbound sailboats all have solid lead keels, relatively deep draft, and tanks placed under the cabin sole in the center of the boat. The Outbound 5360 couples these design elements with even more form stability than that of her accomplished sisters.

These features coupled with properly sized rigs and careful weight management on deck, result in sailboats with excellent stability.
